Star Wars Fans Actually Have Six Different Ways of Viewing Films and Series in the Franchise

The Skywalker saga might have a chronological timeline that fans can follow, however, Star Wars fans know that there are different ways to view the films from the Star Wars franchise. Star Wars fans can decide to watch the moves according to their release, they can also watch them according to their order in the overall Star Wars timeline.

Interestingly enough, The Direct says fans actually have six different ways of looking at the galaxy far, far away.

The first is the Ultimate Chronological Order. This method is pretty simple – all Star Wars fans have to do is watch the films and shows from the actual timeline of the Star Wars franchise. It might be simple if you only take into account the films in the Skywalker saga, but the publication says the Ultimate Chronological Order should also include the spinoff movies Rogue One and Solo. It also includes the shows The Clone Wars, Rebels, and The Mandalorian.

The next is the Anakin Skywalker Cut, limiting fans viewing to films that have some sort of Anakin Skywalker appearance. It starts with the prequels, of course, and goes through a few episodes of The Clone Wars and Rebels.

The Mandalorian Cut is one that focuses on Star Wars: The Mandalorian and episodes from The Clone Wars and Rebels that focus on the planet of Mandalore and its citizens.

There fourth method is watching the films through the Alternate Machete Order, a fan favorite process where you watching Rogue One, then the Original and Prequel Trilogy (while ignoring The Phandom Menace) and every other live-action film with the exception of solo.

The publication also lists down the Luke Skywalker Cut – a linear viewing method that focuses on Luke's arc and avoids the prequel trilogy.

The Ahsoka Cut is one that has its focus on Ahsoka's episodes in The Clone Wars and Rebels with fans waiting for the Padawan's live-action debut in The Mandalorian.
