Star Wars: Episode IX 'Leak' Suggests More Major Deaths Than Fans Would Expect

Thought Star Wars fans may know very little about what Lucasfilm has planned for Star Wars: Episode IX, it wouldn't come as a surprise if J.J. Abrams killed off a few characters here and there. However, there's a rumor going around that a lot of familiar faces aren't going to make it to the very end of the film, saying that there's going to be a whole lot more deaths than fans would expect.

Claiming to be a legitimate leak, this new post on Reddit has been making waves, telling Star Wars fans that "there are more deaths than you would expect and there are deaths that you may not expect."

The direction of Kylo Ren's (Adam Driver's) narrative has been a major point of discussion among fans for quite some time now. Ever since Star Wars: The Last Jedi, many have been wondering whether Han (Harrison Ford) and Leia's (the late Carrie Fisher) estranged son would head down a path of redemption, or whether he'd spiral further into the dark side in the next Star Wars film.

According to the alleged leak, Ren's arc is going to be the highlight of the third installment in Lucasfilm's third and final sequel trilogy. This arc would have a "sheer scale that rivals ROTK (Lord of the Rings' Return of the King)

"That's what impressed me the most and the enthusiasm is shared across the board," the leak went on. "Do not interpret this as that something is wrong with other aspects of the movie. It's just that these stand out more than anything else and people are really hyped."

The only question left is who exactly is going to die in Episode IX. The leak seems to be hinting at Kylo Ren, but the post also suggests multiple deaths, so who else? Will the film really kill of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega)?

Let's wait and see.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
