Star Wars: Episode IX Leak Says Leia Becomes Rey’s Shocking New Jedi Master

Ever since Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) sacrificed his life to save the Resistance during the third act of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, fans have been wondering what would become of Rey (Daisy Ridley) and her training. Sure, the Jakku Orphan had some time to learn the ways of the Force, but now with Luke gone, who would be there to guide her?

While Luke is most likely to return as a Force Ghost in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, there's a new rumor going around saying that Rey may receive Jedi training from an unexpected master – General Leia Organa (the late Carrie Fisher).

According to a leak posted by Making Star Wars, fans are going to see Rey continue her training with Leia during the opening sequence of Episode IX. General Organa becomes the Jakku Orphan's new pseudo-Jedi master in the film, training her in the jungle while rebuilding the resistance. The leak suggests that the scene in the Rise of Skywalker D23 trailer where Rey throws out her lightsaber and then uses the Force to bring it back as Thor does with his hammer is a sequence that involves Rey's training with Organa.

It might seem like a bit of a surprise for fans knowing how Leia didn't really formally train to be a Jedi, however, we all know that Luke's twin also has a deep connection to the Force. It doesn't sound too farfetched to find Leia training Rey.
