Star Wars: Episode IX Footage Gets Screened At Disney Shareholders Meeting

Star Wars fans might have given up any kind of hope seeing Lucasfilm drop Star Wars: Episode IX's teaser before Star Wars Celebration in April, but it looks like Disney got to see a bit of footage from the film during the Walt Disney Company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders this year.

The footage hasn't been made public yet, but those who've attended Disney's Annual Meeting of Shareholders got to see a part of Episode IX (via Comicbook.com) when CEO Bob Iger reminded those in attendance that 2019 was going to close out strong with the film concluding the Skywalker saga. While Iger didn't reveal the film's title, he was happy to present something that JJ Abrams put together for those at the meeting.

Right now, we're not quite sure what the footage was or whether Disney shareholders got to see actual scenes from Episode IX or whether they were given behind-the-scenes cuts from the production of Episode IX.

Still, we're hoping that a Disney shareholder present during the meeting decides to spill.

This is the first time that Lucasfilm's ever shown anything about Episode IX, and we're hoping to learn more about the footage that the studio screened at the meeting.

There's a lot riding on Episode IX, and fans are dying to know more about the movie. Not only is Episode IX the third and final installment in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, but it's also going to serve as the conclusion to the Skywalker saga. Star Wars is going to head on to new things with DB Weiss and David Benioff's new Star Wars film series. Don't forget Rian Johnson's new trilogy too.

Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
