Fans are beyond stoked for the arrival of Star Wars' newest series Andor which will chronicle the titular character's story pre-Rogue One. Now, seeing as shows like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi have fed the fandom with seemingly endless fan service, a lot of people are hoping it would be the same case for the Diego Luna-led project.

Well, we hate to burst your respective bubbles because not only will Andor shy away from delivering fan service, but it also won't feature any involvement from the Jedi. In an interview with ScreenRant, Luna explained that Andor will be the "most grounded" Star Wars series to date and will center on "regular people".

He says: "I wouldn’t say it that way. What I would say is that Andor is the most grounded Star Wars you’ll get. This is about the people. There’s no Jedi around, and it’s very dark times in the galaxy. It’s when the people have to come together, articulate a response, and work in communities because the Empire is growing and control is everywhere."

Luna added: "People have been marginalized, and there’s no freedom. You have these communities having to react. It’s the most human that the experience of Star Wars can get. This Star Wars is about regular people like you and me, and I think that connection is going to be special. It’s the most realistic—if you can say realistic, because obviously, they live in a galaxy far, far away. But it should feel realistic to you, because we want that proximity. We want you to reflect [on] yourself with these characters on this journey."

Showrunner Tony Gilroy recently noted that the show won't rely on fan service, unlike the other Disney+ shows that have come before it and when you think about it, it actually makes sense. As for the absence of the Jedi, it's also worth mentioning that the Force-wielders didn't appear in Rogue One because of the time period in which it takes place.

Star Wars: Andor will have a triple-episode premiere on September 21, 2022.
