Star Wars Costumes Reportedly Banned From Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge

If you're planning to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland dressed as Kylo Ren or Poe Dameron, you'll probably need to find a different outfit. The park is reportedly banning Star Wars costumes from the new attraction.

The official Disney Parks website recently shared some important information you will need if you're heading down to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Interestingly, one of the entries includes a precaution about wearing any Star Wars costume.

"The current Disneyland Resort costume policy will be in effect in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Costumes may not be worn by guests 14 years of age or older. Appropriate Disney bounding – dressing in outfits inspired by favorite characters – is permitted," it reads.

There could be a good reason why Disneyland isn't allowing cosplayers to hang out at Galaxy's Edge. There are several Disney cast members dressed as certain characters around the park. For instance, Kylo Ren is expected to be walking around the area and having a second Kylo Ren could break the illusion for other guests. Additionally, a person in costume might be tempted to pretend to be a part of the cast and sign autographs for other guests.

The whole "pretending to be a Disney cast member" is certainly unacceptable for the park. After all, they have strict rules when it comes to cast members. Unfortunately, your kids will be the only ones allowed to put on a costume on your visit to Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge.

Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is now open at Disneyland.
