Star Wars Actress Noami Ackie Reveals The Secrecy Around The Set Of Episode IX

There's a lot of excitement building up over Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only is the film the final entry in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, but it's also expected to close the Skywalker saga. Seeing how important the film is, we can understand how careful Lucasfilm is being with The Rise of Skywalker's secrets.

Speaking in an interview with Metro during the global launch of Triple Force Friday, Star Wars newcomer Naomi Ackie reveals some of the tactics that Lucasfilm's been using to keep Episode IX's secrets under lock and key. Not only was the set placed near lockdown, but the cast was only allowed to read the movie's script twice.

"They're very on lockdown, we never got to take a script home, no way," Ackie told the entertainment news outlet. "I got to read the script twice."

According to Ackie, the cast of The Rise of Skywalker had to work with that kind of limit.

"You retain information, each day that you're on set you get what you need to do the day's work. But it's nice because when I see the film now, because of my memory they've faded away and I get to relive it with everyone else," the actress went on.

Lucasfilm seems to be pretty tight on Episode IX, but not as tight as Marvel was with the production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Not only did the studio limit the movies' cast to their lines for the movie, but the Russo Brothers also filmed fake scenes to keep the paparazzi off their scent.

We wonder why Lucasfilm isn't being as intensive. Maybe they can trust the cast more.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker premieres December 20, 2019.
