Star Wars’ Actress Daisy Ridley Shocks Fans With Her Gory Low-Budget Horror Movie

There's a lot riding on Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Not only is the film closing the curtain on Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy, it's also going to culminate the entire Skywalker saga. Seeing how her time in the franchise is coming to an end, it makes perfect sense for Daisy Ridley to start searching for other films and other franchises to star in.

However, it seems like Star Wars: The Force Awakens' little Jakku orphan has fans wondering about her film choices. Ridley just recently appeared in a new trailer for a low-budget horror movie Scrawl. The production looks so poorly made, viewers commenting on the video say that the film looks a lot like a "bad student movie." Many don't understand why in the world Ridley would accept a project like Scrawl coming directly after the Star Wars franchise.

As it turns out, Ridley actually worked on Scrawl way before being cast in Lucasfilm's sequel trilogy. The horror movie's only being released this year with the trailer making the rounds online. According to Express,Scrawl predates all of Ridley's other work and is coming out now in the US through WildEye releasing on DVD and on VOD.

For those interested in seeing Ridley's earliest work, Scrawl tells the story of a young teenager and his best friend who create a comic book called Scrawl. However, with the appearance of a mysterious girl named Hannah (played by Ridley), events in the comic book start coming to life, including the monsters and massacres written in the story.

Ridley's most upcoming Star Wars film, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to release on December 20, 2019.
