Yellow-bladed lightsabers are a rarity in the Star Wars universe, it seems which is why fanatics were equally stunned and delighted earlier this year when Marvel revealed that Luke Skywalker will now be wielding a yellow lightsaber as part of the nerd franchise's current comic book run. Now, a couple of months after it was first revealed, Marvel Comics has shared new cover images of the young Jedi and his latest weapon of choice.

The said covers and solicitations will be made available beginning January 2021. As it stands, casual fans know very little about the new piece but the comic book had a simple explanation regarding the change. According to Star Wars #1, Luke lost his previous saber during his battle with Darth Vader at Cloud City and its whereabouts are still unclear up to now. Following the incident, Luke debuted the yellow lightsaber which I gotta say looks hella badass and it suits him quite nicely, too! Check out the official artwork here:

Of course, this isn't the first time we've seen a yellow-bladed lightsaber so it shouldn't come as a surprise anymore. Most recently, Rey Skywalker (yes, I'm calling her that) unveiled her new lightsaber towards the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker and it instantly tickled the interest of Star Wars fans who've been longing to know more about the weapon's true origins and why it's colored that way. Obviously, it wasn't answered in Episode IX so I guess we'll have to wait a little longer to actually find out the story behind it.
