Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Novel Confirms Resistance Cameo (and Several Other Pilots)

Rae Carson's novelization of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set to expand on the original film that came out last December, and with it comes cameos from other characters in the Star Wars lore. We know that ships from Star Wars Resistance make a cameo in the final space battle, but the novelization actually gives Kaz a line.

Besides Kaz, we have appearances from members of Alphabet Squadron; and we'll also just assume the person piloting the Ghost is none other than Rebels' Hera Syndulla. This short excerpt doesn't reveal who said, "Cut the chatter," but it's been confirmed to be Kaz's mentor Yeager. It would have been funny if it was Wedge Antilles who said the line, seeing that he was the one who was told to ‘cut the chatter' way back in Star Wars: A New Hope.

While the novelization tried to explain everything that the movie can't, it admittedly hasn't changed the minds of people who weren't so keen on the film. At some point, some people actually hated the explanation of how Palpatine came back, and the reveal that Rey's father is a failed Palpatine clone didn't help either.

For now, Star Wars is going to be taking a hiatus (and not just the Coronavirus kind). The next film is set to come out in 2022, but while we wait, there are still some Disney+ series that we can look forward to including The Mandalorian 2, Cassian Andor, and Kenobi.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is now available on digital and hits Blu-Ray/DVD on March 31.
