CBS All Access just released a brand new teaser trailer for Star Trek: Picard today and in it we get to see the former USS Stargazer captain Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) find a sense of renewal after he comes across a young woman who seeks his help.
Though the teaser doesn't really last for very long, the 30-second video gives a good idea of Picard's state of mind in the upcoming series. Created by Star Trek: Discovery's Alex Kurtzman, Star Trek: Picard is set at the end of the 24th century, two decades after the events of Star Trek: Nemesis.
The series is supposed to tell the next chapter of Picard's life after Star Trek: The Next Generation, and while plot details are being held close to the chest, Kurtzman did tell fans that Picard is supposed to be a "very different show from Discovery."
Picard is set to feature the highly-anticipated return of Patrick Stewarts, one of the legends of the Star Trek franchise. It's also set to feature the return of other Star Trek alums like Brent Spiner who is to reprise his role as Data, Jonathan Del Arco who is set to reprise his role as Hugh the Borg, and Jeri Ryan from Star Trek: Voyager who is set to return as Seven of Nine. Marina Sirtis is also set to reprise her role as Commander Deanna Troi and Jonathan Frakes is set to return as Riker.
Star Trek: Picard is set to air on January 23, 2020 on CBS All Access.
