Star Trek: Picard Showrunner Teases Season 3 Villain

There's a lot of excitement right now for the third season of Star Trek: Picard as it will feature the reunion of the main cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. As of now, the exact details regarding their involvement are still under wraps. There also hasn't been much information about the season's villain and, now, we have some new details about the big bad that Jean-Luc Picard will face.

A fan asked Star Trek: Picard showrunner Terry Matalas on Twitter about the villain on the upcoming third season whether it's a new character or someone that we've met before to which he responded that it is indeed going to be a new character and played by someone "you've seen a million times before" and someone he always wanted to work with.

You can see the interaction below:

In another tweet, Matalas clarified that Jeffrey Combs, who played multiple characters throughout the franchise, will not play the villain in the upcoming season and the actor is someone who has never appeared in any Star Trek project before.

While Matalas didn't reveal any specific details about the season's villainous character, he did provide some interesting clues which should excite fans who are looking forward to seeing what they have in store for the third and final season of the series. We're still ways off before the season airs so it might take some time before we find out who the mysterious actor that Matalas is teasing.

The upcoming season will see the return of series regulars Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, and Michelle Hurd. They are joined by The Next Generation alumni LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, and Brent Spiner. However, Santiago Cabrera, Alison Pill, Evan Evagora, and Isa Briones are not expected to return.
