Star Trek: Picard Season 3 Teaser Trailer Shows the Return of TNG Characters

There's a lot of anticipation right now for the third season of Star Trek: Picard as it will feature the much-awaited reunion of the main cast of The Next Generation. While the plot details regarding their return are being kept under wraps at the moment, fans are certainly excited to see them together again after two decades.

During Star Trek's recent San Diego Comic-Con panel, they unveiled the first teaser trailer for the upcoming third season of Star Trek: Picard. While they didn't show any scenes, they did give us a glimpse at the first look of the returning Next Generations cast members as well as series mainstays Patrick Stewart, Jeri Ryan, and Michelle Hurd.

They also released the character posters for the upcoming season:

However, Brent Spiner was notably absent in both the teaser trailer and posters although he is already confirmed to be part of the season as well. It is unknown yet whether he will reprise the role of Data or his other characters Dr. Altan Inigo Soong and Adam Soong.

While we already saw Will Riker and Deanna Troi in the first season, this is our first current look at Geordi La Forge (who doesn't sport a visor), Worf, and Beverly Crusher, who all obviously have aged up from the time that we last saw them in Nemesis. Seven of Nine is now also wearing a Starfleet official uniform.

It is exciting to see our first look at our favorite Next Generations characters and look as awesome as they were back in the day. It's curious to see what story they have in store for the characters and it will surely be a bittersweet moment to see them together on the screen again.
