Star Trek: Discovery's Sonequa Martin-Green Wants to Return as Sasha in The Walking Dead Spin-Off

There is little doubt that Sonequa Martin-Green is already busy with Star Trek: Discovery. After all, it has been confirmed that the fourth season will begin production this November. However, that doesn't mean that Martin-Green isn't interested in revisiting a character from her past. The former Walking Dead star admitted that she would like to reprise her role as Sasha Williams in the planned spin-off series.

Martin-Green recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly where she expressed interest in being a part of the anthology series Tales of The Walking Dead that would follow the stories of deceased characters.

"I'd love it. I'd loooooove it," Martin-Green gushed. "I love Sasha. I love The Walking Dead. That was my family before this family. What a blessing, by the way, that I've been able to be in two situations back to back that were so familiar that have such reach. I would love to. That would be so much fun."

Martin-Green continued by explaining how she wanted to learn more about Sasha even when she was still playing the character on The Walking Dead.

"It would be interesting. I was always interested in backstory. Of course, I am as an actor with every character that I play," she said. "But as the years went on as Sasha, I was finding so much joy in developing so much backstory that no one would ever know. That's one of the great things about being an actor in TV, is that you get to build so much life over the years and over the seasons."

For now, it is still unclear if Sasha will be one of the characters who will be featured in Tales of The Walking Dead. In the meantime, fans can expect to see more of Martin-Green in Star Trek: Discovery Season 3, which airs every Thursday on CBS All Access.
