Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 Teaser Revealed

Trekkies who have been waiting for an update on Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 are in for a treat. The new teaser for the upcoming season is finally here and it confirms that the series will return this year.

The brief teaser featured Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green) standing on what appears to be a dead planet. However, there is still a small glimmer of hope. Michael holds up a flag of the United Federation of Planets. On the other hand, the flag appears to be in tatters.

Unfortunately, there's not much to go on in the video. But it does provide us with something to look forward to. The teaser concludes with a note that Star Trek: Discovery is "coming soon." Hopefully, this means that the series is close to completion.

It was previously reported that Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 could be delayed due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Martin-Green's co-star Wilson Cruz had confirmed that although filming has already wrapped, post-production could take some time. Fellow Discovery actor Anthony Rapp also pointed out that the special effects team are still working on the episodes and since they are working remotely, progress could be slow.

For now, CBS All Access has not yet given Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 an official release date. Nevertheless, fans are hoping that an announcement will be made soon and that the series could return by mid-2020. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The first two seasons of Star Trek: Discovery are currently available for free on CBS All Access.
