After months of anticipation, Star Trek: Discovery Season 3 has finally gotten its release date!

After following Commander Burnham into the wormhole in the show's second season finale, the upcoming third season finds the Discovery crew arriving into an "unknown future" that's clearly far from the home they once knew. Living in a "time filled with uncertainty," the team has to work together, along with the help of some new friends, to "restore hope to the Federation."

The third season of Discovery will run for 13 episodes, with new episodes arriving weekly on Thursdays on CBS All Access. The show will finally return on October 15, which is only a week after the finale of Star Trek: Lower Decks' first season. This is obviously good news for fans, with non-stop Star Trek content coming their way starting in early August.

The release date reveal comes only days after the Star Trek universe Comic-Con panel where the cast of did a table read of the first act of the Season 2 finale. A short clip of Burnham planting a Federation flag on an unknown planet was also shared along with the announcement. This was actually released beforehand, but this time, it's finally accompanied by the show's release date.

Staring early August, fans will get to have 23 consecutive weeks of fun new Star Trek content so get ready!
