Star Trek Actor Robert Picardo Laments Over Not Being Brent Spiner in Awesome Music Video

Who would've thought that The Doctor had always wanted to be an AI? Star Trek: Voyager actor Robert Picardo has just released an awesome new music video where he sings about not being Brent Spiner.

Picardo shared the music video titled Spent My Life An Actor on his YouTube channel and features the Voyager star at home as he laments about playing a character who isn't quite as successful as Data. In the song, Picardo points out the similarities between The Doctor and Data then wonders why the latter was still chosen to appear in the Star Trek films as well as Star Trek: Picard. Interestingly, he even states that Spiner is now a part of a new show Penny Dreadful: City of Angels.

Of course, the music video is done in good humor and Picardo even released a statement about the song.

"A few weeks ago, my friend and colleague Brent Spiner tweeted a hilarious musical spoof of himself that inspired me to do something in my characteristically more sophisticated manner, as an homage," Picardo stated. "My good friend James Marlowe (The Marlowe-Pugnetti Company) directed a crack mini-crew. Legendary event planner and TV personality Edward Perotti does a great cameo."

For now, it is unclear if Picardo will get to reprise his role as The Doctor in the new Star Trek shows. However, fans are hoping that he will eventually show up in Picard. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
