Did the Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk really 'lose his teeth'? Considering the huge victory season 1 faced, creating the story from scratch was no easy task for anyone. Apparently, not even for the showrunner himself.

Did Squid Game Creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk Really 'Lose Teeth' While Filming Season 1?

According to Squid Game creator Hwang Dong-Hyuk, he lost "eight or nine" teeth due to the stress during the filming for the first season of the hit Korean drama.

Apparently, chronic stress can impair the immune system, and when this stress is prolonged, it can lead to gum disease or even tooth decay.

The Netflix thriller was initially published and planned as a standalone. If anything, the creator swore against making a second season for it. However, Hwang Dong-Hyuk admitted the one thing that changed his mind, "Money."

"Even though the first series was such a huge global success, honestly I didn't make much," the creator shared, "So doing the second series will help compensate me for the success of the first one, too."

Squid Game raises the stakes with season 2, especially after encountering the first season's set of games. Could it be any different? Or better yet, could season 2 topple what season 1 built for fans?

"The stress I feel now is much greater," he added, making him even more pessimistic considering how timely the series will be coming out by the end of the year.

Squid Game Season 2 is Burdened with High Expectations For Its Future Success

Not every second season returns always end up great, and this counts Squid Game, too.

While their return boasts several well-known Korean celebrities, it also brings back the main character of the story, Player 456 aka Gi-Hun has a new goal to somehow defeat the gaming system and save the new participants from their imminent deaths.

Now, the question lies in how different things will turn out for Squid Game season 2. Based on the trailer, the Masked Man recognizes Gi-Hun as the victor of the previous game.

The thrill depends on how they plan on taking each other out before the next batch of players gets killed like his old friends did. Excited about the upcoming season? Let us know in the comments below!
