Spotify Lands Deal with WB to Produce DC Audio Shows

While superheroes nowadays are mostly enjoyed with movies and television, there are multiple other mediums for stories based on Superman and Wonder Woman. What's great is, Spotify has landed a new deal with WB that will give them exclusive rights to DC-centered audio dramas.

According to Variety, Spotify is teaming up with WB and DC entertainment to produce ‘an original slate of narrative scripted podcasts.' That means we could be expected audio shows centered on characters like Superman, Harye Quinn, Batman, or the Joker. It's emphasized that these dramas will exist in their own timeline, but I won't put it past the writers to try and have something connected to other material, especially the DCAU where the voice actors like Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill have just as much celebrity draw to fans as Ben Affleck or Henry Cavill.

Besides DC heroes, the deal with WB is also going to allow for scripted shows starring Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck. While the Looney Tunes are all about animation, I guess there's still some fun stories you can pull off just with voices. I'm sure this will also help hype fans up for the release of the Space Jam sequel next year.

We don't have a lineup yet for upcoming DC/Spotify shows, but hopefully, we get a big announce on the upcoming DC Fandome event this August. Until then, all we can really do is wait and see what gets officially revealed.
