Spider-Man Star Tom Holland Says He Just Isn’t A Big Star Wars Fan

Marvel's Peter Parker might be a big Star Wars fan, but it turns out that Tom Holland isn't that fond of the galaxy far, far away.

Speaking in an interview with Uproxx to help promote his upcoming film, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Holland was asked a number of things about his role as Marvel's wall-crawler. Recalling a Star Wars reference that Spider-Man makes during his debut in Captain America: Civil War ( Peter Parker talks about a tactic used in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back in the film), the publication wonders how many times Holland's been asked about Star Wars: Episode V.

"Yeah, I know. Still haven't seen it, though," Holland said.

"You're going to get asked every time," the news outlet pushes.

"People hate when I say this, but I'm just really not a Star Wars fan," the actor goes on to explain.

This might disappoint fans out there. On the big screen, Peter Parker is a huge Star Wars fan. Not only did he use Star Wars moves to take down villains in the Civil War, but he also played around with a Death Star Lego set in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Holland's second Spider-Man standalone movie, Far From Home, was even supposed to have a figure of Lobot in it, though the scene was ultimately cut from the movie.

Of course, actors aren't the characters that they play, and if Holland isn't that fond of Star Wars, then that's okay too. Everyone has different tastes.

Holland is set to reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far From Home which premieres next week, July 2, 2019.
