Sony has been working on multiple Spider-Verse projects for the past couple of years that could potentially become part of the live-action franchise and join the likes of Venom, Morbius, Kraven the Hunter, and Madame Web.

One of the many projects that are in development is the Silver Sable film which will focus on the fan-favorite mercenary from the Spider-Man comics and potentially team-up with Black Cat as well.

However, we have not heard any updates surrounding the status of the project as Sony prioritizes other titles and some fans are starting to wonder if the film could still happen, especially as the live-action Spider-Verse expands even further.

Now, we have an update from the writer of the film herself and it looks like the project is no longer happening.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, Lindsey Anderson Beer, who is attached to writing the Silver Sable movie, was asked about the latest status of the project.

She revealed that she is no longer involved in the project and suggested that there is a likelihood that it may no longer be in development as she is also unsure about its recent status.

"It was something that Sony was looking at and then, as far as I know, is not currently developing. I had to hop off that to another project at the time. I was only on it as -- people hire writers as, it's called a 'weekly,' I was helping them out. But yeah, I'm not sure," Anderson Beer said.

With the lack of reports surrounding the project and Anderson Beer's recent comments, it looks like we may no longer have to look forward to Silver Sable having her own solo film on the big screen and Sony might be focused on other characters that have bigger recognition.

There is a chance that the project might be turned into a TV series or they'll integrate her into another Spider-Verse live-action movie where she'll become a supporting character instead.

This is certainly discouraging news for fans who are looking forward to seeing this fan-favorite character have her own film, but they shouldn't lose hope for any possibility that she might still get her live-action debut very soon.
