Spider-Man: No Way Home Officially Bags the Highest Grossing Sony Film in History


Earning the top spot for this year’s biggest movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to break records as it officially bags the highest-grossing film that Sony Pictures ever has in its entire history. Considering that it was released during a global pandemic, Tom Holland’s flick is shattering every expectation there is and it is still bringing in more to the box office.

Spider-Man: No Way Home continues to break barriers as it has been proudly announced by Sony that the film is officially the highest grossing movie that the studio has ever produced. It dominates all other films that Sony Pictures has produced in its entire history and considering that its release is during a global pandemic and it is yet to be released in all theaters worldwide, that alone is an amazing feat.

The global box office hit is steadily on top as it just broke the record of its predecessor, Spider-Man Far From Home which earned $1.13 billion all in all. Spider-Man: No Way Home took in $516.4 million domestically and its international release brought in $644.9 million, having a total of $1.16 billion in just the first 12 days in theaters. This would get even higher as there are countries where the film isn’t out yet.

Now, Tom Holland belongs to a dozen of actors to with four different movies reaching $1 billion at the box office. All these films are Marvel movies.

Tom Holland reprises his role as Peter Parker/ Spider-Man and he would be joined by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Also in the cast are Zendaya as MJ, Benedict Wong as Wong, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson, and Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson.

Villains arrive with Willem Dafoe as the Green Goblin, Alfred Molina as Doc Ock, Jamie Foxx as Electro, Rhys Ifans as the Lizard, and Thomas Haden Church as Sandman.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently in theaters.
