Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse Sequel's Rumored Title Has Been Revealed

Back in 2018, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse took the world by surprise for its innovative animation style, heartwarming story, and unique take on telling the story of our friendly neighbor. The film was a huge success and received numerous awards including an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Now, a sequel is in the works that will continue Miles Morales' adventure.

According to a report from Cosmic Circus, there might be already a title for the sequel. In a Linkedin listing that they found from a CFX supervisor who worked in the first film, they discovered that the sequel is titled Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. However, the title has not been officially confirmed by Sony so we have to take this with a grain of salt as there is a possibility that it might just be a working production title or it could change sometime before its release.

If the title of the sequel is actually Across the Spider-Verse, it indicates that the story might revolve around Miles Morales going through the different universes this time around and perhaps visit some of his friends who came to his universe in the first film. Why is he going to the other universes? We don't know yet since Sony nor the makers of the film have announced the plot details of the sequel. The only confirmed details so far are that Insecure star Issa Rae joined the cast to voice Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman and they will feature the Japanese Spider-Man from the 1978 series. Gwen Stacy and Peter B. Parker are also confirmed to return in the sequel.

Fans are definitely excited for the sequel as it will bring us another adventure with Miles Morales. Also, the multiverse has been a huge trend in comic book movies and shows lately and the film might double down more on that. They might even introduce more characters from the other universes and it wouldn't be a bad guess if you think that the live-action Spider-Men might appear in animated form. The possibilities are endless.
