It has been a long time since we got any updates on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. However, it looks like the long wait is finally over. Executive producer Amy Pascal has teased exciting news about the highly anticipated animated sequel. In addition to that, we could see the first footage from the new film very soon.
We already know that Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 is in production but it is unclear just how far along work on the sequel has been. When asked about the second animated film, Amy Pascal gave Fandango a vague answer but also pointed out that we'll be seeing something from the movie "soon."
"It's going to be fantastic," Pascal said of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2. She then teased, "We have something to show on that very soon."
This is truly exciting news considering that fans have been hoping for an update on the sequel for some time now. But how soon can we expect the update? There is a possibility that the first teaser for Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 will be one of the trailers accompanying Spider-Man: No Way Home during its theatrical run. This means that fans who will be heading for the cinemas could get the chance to see the first footage from Spider-Verse 2 this December.
We're loving the idea of the Into the Spider-Verse 2 teaser being dropped along with the premiere of Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, it is important to point out that this has not yet been confirmed so it's best to take this with a grain of salt.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will star Tom Holland, Zendaya, Benedict Cumberbatch, Jacob Batalon, Jon Favreau, Marisa Tomei, J. B. Smoove, Benedict Wong, Jamie Foxx, Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Thomas Haden Church, and Rhys Ifans. The film will premiere on December 17, 2021.
Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2 is currently scheduled for release on October 7, 2022.
