Spider-Man: Freshman Year Producer Disputes Cancellation Rumors

For the past several days, a rumor mill was circling around the internet that claims that the upcoming Marvel animated series Spider-Man: Freshman Year has been canceled. However, the information was never confirmed by Marvel and the series is still on its way as far as we know.

Now, fans can stop worrying about the show's rumored cancellation thanks to a promising update from executive producer Jeff Trammell who took to Twitter and confirmed that production for the series is still ongoing as he celebrates the two-year anniversary of the day he pitched the project. He also gave a shoutout to the crew who are working on the series.

"Just realized that two years ago today, I pitched to Marvel Studios. I never thought I'd have such a cool opportunity and if that was the end of the story, I'd still look at it as a win," he wrote.

"Luckily, that pitch led to me doing Spider-Man: Freshman Year with an unbelievably hard-working and dedicated crew to make a show that I cannot wait for you all to see. To say I'm extremely proud of what we've done would be an understatement. I feel super lucky to have had this opportunity two years ago and could never have imagined where it would lead to."

This statement from the main executive producer of the series should put down any doubts that the series is still happening and the rumors that Marvel has pulled the plug on the project. After all, if it was already canceled, they wouldn't have put a promising and optimistic update such as this.

As we also know, the production of an animated project, let alone a series, takes a very long time so a lack of updates is not really worrying and it's unlikely that they will pull the plug on the project since millions of dollars have already been spent on producing the episodes. For now, let's just wait for its release and look out for more updates on its progress.
