Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will mark the triumphant return of Sam Raimi in the Marvel universe. Of course, Raimi is famous for his magnificent work on the original Spider-Man trilogy from the 2000s which is still held by fans in such high regard. Well, except of course for Spider-Man 3.

Apparently, the acclaimed director isn't the one guy who's set to make his Marvel comeback. Legendary composer Danny Elfman who worked on the iconic score for Raimi's Spidey trilogy is also involved in Doctor Strange 2.

In a recent interview with Inverse, Elfman confirmed his involvement in the highly anticipated sequel and according to the composer, he's already started putting the pieces together for the film's score. "I am starting to do bits of pre-work for Doctor Strange 2 that Sam Raimi's directing. Even though I don't start it for some months, there are bits of recorded music they need for the sets."

It isn't Elfman's first rodeo in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In fact, he also did work on Avengers: Age of Ultron's score. Now, we can totally expect Doctor Strange 2 to have an epic soundtrack courtesy of the renowned composer but it also got me thinking, now that he and Raimi have reunited, would it be possible to see a "familiar" face in the film? You know who I'm talking about. *wink*

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits cinemas in 2022.
