Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Producers Share Awesome Hailee Steinfeld Moment During Recording

There is little doubt that fans are loving the first teaser for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) since it brought back Gwen Stacy. Not surprisingly, producers Phil Lord and Chris Miller are thrilled about Hailee Steinfeld's return in the animated sequel especially since she gave them one of the most memorable moments while recording for the film.

Hailee Steinfeld first played Spider-Gwen in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and fans were eager to see the character's return in the sequel. Luckily, the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) teaser has confirmed that Gwen will be playing a major role in the upcoming movie.

But was it hard for Steinfeld to reprise her role in Across the Spider-Verse? Lord and Miller told Entertainment Weekly that the recording schedule was pretty hectic to the point that the Hawkeye star had a bizarre experience while recording an emotional scene.

Well, it's been a busy year for with lots of different projects, and at one point we were recording a very emotional scene with Hailee Steinfeld in one room while in the next room we were shooting a comedy music video with a bootyquaking sushi chef," the producers said. They then added that they had a truly inspired request for Steinfeld.

"Tried to get Hailee to sing backup but ... she declined," they said.

Well, we can't really blame Steinfeld if the idea of singing backing vocals for a "bootyquaking sushi chef" didn't seem like a good one. Nevertheless, it's great to know that she managed to finish her recording without a hitch.

Steinfeld isn't the only highly anticipated character who is set to return in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It has been confirmed that Oscar Isaac will be back as Miguel O'Hara aka Spider-Man 2099 after a brief post-credits appearance in Into The Spider-Verse.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Part One) is scheduled for release on October 2, 2022.
