There is little doubt that Spider-Man 3 is one of the most anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe films. But what will happen to Peter Parker in the third Spider-Man movie? A new report suggests that the film could finally revisit how Peter became a web-slinger in the first place.
Spider-Man's introduction in the MCU was truly unique since it did away with the character's origin story. Instead, Tom Holland was immediately introduced in Captain America: Civil War as a teenager who is already comfortable with his powers and has moved on from the death of Uncle Ben Parker. However, there is a possibility that Peter's past will be revisited now that his identity has been revealed by Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Screenrant suggests that Far From Home actually hinted at how Peter's origin story will be told. The report points out that the film had set up the reveal when Mysterio framed Peter and people could eventually get curious as to how the boy got his powers in the first place. Interestingly, the revelation could also explain how certain villains got similar powers.
It's an interesting idea that could work for the third Spider-Man movie while also avoiding Uncle Ben's death (again). The whole origin story could appear as a flashback or Peter might simply talk about the incident that turned him into a web-slinger. Either way, we're just hoping that Uncle Ben doesn't have to die all over again.
The still-untitled Spider-Man 3 is scheduled for release on July 16, 2021.
