Spider-Ham TV Series Reportedly In The Works

Spider-Ham is one of the more exciting parts of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Voiced by John Mulaney, the character was a clear fan-favorite even before and after the film hit the theaters. So, it doesn't come as a shock there are bigger plans for the character.

We Got This Covered's "trusted source" is back with new information about a television series centered on Spider-Ham.This makes him the fourth character in the film to get a spinoff project. In case you didn't hear, there are rumors about Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099, and Spider-Woman movies being put in motion by Sony as well.

There are no concrete details about this rumored Spider-Ham TV show at the moment. It is just said that Mulaney will be back to reprise the role.

Spider-Ham is actually featured in a prequel mini-movie in the Blu-ray and DVD home releases of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Titled Caught in a Ham, it shows how Peter Porker was brought into the film. Spider-Ham was taking on Doctor Crawdaddy (voiced by Aaron LaPlante) before being sucked into the portal that delivered him to the world that we see in the movie. His animation outlines started messing up just as that portal appeared.

As you will notice there, director Miguel Jiron took a lot of inspiration from the work of John Kricfalusi (he's the guy behind The Ren and Stimpy Show) as well as classic Looney Tunes cartoons. In fact, in the actual film, Spider-Ham was made out to look like he came straight from golden age of American animation.

The abovementioned publication posits that this little short might actually be a secret pilot to the Spider-Ham series and that episodes will look a lot like it. In addition, Jarin will reportedly be heavily involved in the projet as well as Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

While this will be the first time Spider-Ham leads a TV series, he has already appeared in one before. He was in the Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon series, which also did a Spider-Verse storyline where he was also a part of.
