Fans will once again see Song Hye Kyo back on the small screen with her new Netflix K-drama The Glory. As everyone is now looking forward to seeing her latest project, this is what she has to say.
Song Hye Kyo graced the cover of Harper’s Bazaar and talked about The Glory. From the many faces that fans have seen of Song Joong Ki’s former wife, what difference this new show has to offer?
Song Hye Kyo in a New K-Drama
It was already over a year when fans received a confirmation that the 40-year-old actress would be doing a new K-drama. Now that a new year had begun, she talked about the role she was about to play.
The Glory is a revenge story that follows a high school student who dreams of becoming an architect. However, after brutal school violence, the kid has to drop out of school.
A few years later, the man behind the violence gets married and has a child. Now that the child is in elementary, the former bullied student has become the kid’s teacher and from here, a story of revenge begins.

“This drama is my first thriller-drama as well as my first revenge drama,” Song Hye Kyo revealed, via Soompi. “Since the production’s color and character are the opposite of what I’ve done up until this point, I’m looking forward to the new expressions and emotions that will come out while acting.”
As working on this genre is something new for the Now, We are Breaking Up actress, she feels thankful that it has a familiar staff and crew working behind the scenes.
“Fortunately, writer Kim Eun Sook, who writes very strongly, and director Ahn Gil Ho, who I can trust and follow, is here, so I can really depend on them,” she said. “I’m a person to whom the process is important. The results are, of course, really important, too.”
As the production works are something she can’t do alone, she expresses her appreciation toward the teamwork and rhythm between the director, writer, staff, and everyone working to create a show.
Park Sung Hoon Joins Song Hye Kyo in The Glory
Meanwhile, BH Entertainment also confirmed the addition of Park Sung Hoon in The Glory, per Pinkvilla.
By the looks of it, there’s now big anticipation surrounding the series. It doesn’t only have a stellar cast; it also boasts some of the most respected people behind every successful K-drama.

The show will be written by Kim Eun Sook, who is behind Goblin, Mr. Sunshine and Descendants of the Sun, who also starred Song Hye Ko.
Ahn Gil Ho, who’s responsible for Secret Forest 1, Memories of the Alhambra, Watcher and Record of You, will direct the series.
Aside from Song Hye Kyo and Park Sung Hoon, Lee Do Hyun will also be part of the cast. Sadly, there are no words yet on when The Glory will be out.
