After episode 1 introduced us to Arc and his new (or old) world, episode 2 felt much more like a classic fantasy anime.

The episode had everything shounen fans know and love: a lone knight, a quest, protecting a child and village from monsters and then walking off into the sunset. We also got to see Arc’s lovable pet Ponta be introduced!

There was a little bit of worldbuilding at the end of the episode, but overall, this felt like its own solitary experience. The series looks set to introduce more of the world in the next episode, and hopefully, we’ll see Ariane make a meaningful appearance.
