SK8 the Infinity is a new anime series where hardcore skaters go to a secret and no-holds-barred competition past midnight, "S," where skaters race each other on their skateboards along a winding road carved on the side of an abandoned mine in Okinawa and rivals are called beef.

It follows the story of Reki, a high school student by day, hardcore skater at night, who takes a new transferee in school from Canada, Langa Hasegawa, to S and ended up getting him into the world of skateboarding. Langa never even set foot on a skateboard before but given his experience in snowboarding, he's a natural when it comes to it.

SK8 the Infinity is animated by Bones and directed by Hiroko Utsumi which just premiered in January of this year.

SK8 the Infinity has an upcoming seinen manga of the same name by Kazuto Kōjima which will be published on BookLive! and will be released in March 2021. What's interesting is the comedy spin-off manga got out first alongside the anime series which is tilted Sk8 Chill Out! by Toriyasu, the seinen manga spin-off is published in Kadokawa Shoten's Young Ace Up.

SK8 the Infinity Episode 8 Recap

Titled The Fated Tournament, a flashback commenced the episode. Adam skates in search of his "Eve." Adam reveals the schedule of the tournament where Langa, Joe, and another would-be proceeding to the next round.

Langa enters the White Eden Tournament which will determine the apex of the "S." Reki did not join because he has been feeling some kind of inferiority complex against Langa and because of this, he separated himself from Langa. This caused some shadow dropping in Langa's heart given the absence of Reiki.

The tournament qualifiers begin. The skaters who will be qualified will get to enter the main tournament and a mysterious skater arrives at the scene and sets the record of finishing the race faster than everyone else, Tadashi, and he is on his quest to defeat Adam who is genuinely scared as it was Tadashi who taught him all his skills.

Ainosuke's past was uncovered showing that he has been abused by his aunts as a kid. Meanwhile, Miya is disturbed because of Reki being continuously absent and while she wants to visit him, Shado completely disagrees. Shadow won the first match and Langa and Joe both came in second. Joe expressed that "all skateboarders are idiots."

Langa and Joe seem to be at par until Joe executes his signature move, Power Break, flawlessly that he gained an advantage over Langa.

SK8 the Infinity Episode 9 Where to Watch with English Subtitles

SK8 the Infinity is released weekly in Japan under ABC and TV Asahi's ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block. For that outside of Japan, SK8 the Infinity is available on Funimation where premium access users get one week earlier of screening before it is released for free and for all. Funimation airs SK8 the Infinity in the original Japanese audio with English subtitles.

Funimation gives premium access to premium users through a subscription of the price of $5.99 per month or $59.99 a year to avail of the one-week early access of the animes in their library which includes that of SK8 the Infinity.

SK8 the Infinity is also available on AnimeLab for those in New Zealand and Australia while for those in Russia, France, and Denmark, it is accessible through Wakanim.

SK8 the Infinity Episode 9 Release Date and Release Time

Titled "We Were Special Back Then," Episode 9 of SK8 the Infinity will be released on March 7, 2021, at 1 AM JST/11 AM EST for the premium access users of Funimation. At the same date and time, the previous episode, Episode 8, will be released for free and for all. Episode 9 of SK8 the Infinity will be available for free the following week on March 14, 2021, at the same release time.
