Shoot! Goal to the Future Anime Trailer Released

Sports anime are timeless and appeal to pretty much everyone. If you're itching to watch a new sports anime, you have somtething to look forward to. Shoot! Goal to the Future got a new trailer ahead of its release via the official website in the Summer 2022 season. And this new trailer gives us closer look at what to expect.

Aside from showing us some dramatic glimpses at the upcoming series, the new Shoot! The Trailer also previews the ending song entitled "RIVALS" which is performed by Japanese Pop duo, all at once.

The anime is directed by Noriyuki Nakamura, with animation handled by EMT Squared, the studio behind works anime including Urahara and Drugstore in Another World. For its cast, the series stars Chiaki Kobayashi as Hideto Tsuji, Shunichi Toki as Subaru Kurokawa, Yuki Ono as Jo Kazama, Shimba Tsuchiya as Kohei Kokubo, and Yuichiro Umehara as Atsushi Kamiya.

Shoot! Goal to the Future Release Date

Shoot! Goal to the Future will premiere in Japan on AT-X, TOKYO MX, TV Shizuoka and other stations on July 3, 2022. The anime will also stream on Crunchyroll internationally, with new episodes to release right after they air in Japan.

Shoot! Goal to the Future is based on the manga series entitled “Shoot!” by Tsukasa Ooshima, and it was published in Weekly Shonen Magazine from 1993 to 2003. The manga inspired an anime series adaptation from Toei Animation entitled Aoki Densestu Shoot! which ran for 58 episodes from 1993 to 1994. This series was followed up with a short anime film in December of 1994.

For its story, the upcoming Shoot! anime follows Atsushi Kamiya, a former captain at Kategawa High School and world-renowned captain for a famous Italian soccer team. Atsushi meets Hideto Tsuji, a student at Kategawa High School who is at first uninterested in the school’s lackluster soccer team. But their meeting changes things, and the show will see their journey to revitalize the school’s soccer team.
