There's no denying that Warner Bros. has made several attempts to replicate the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but to no avail. Poor creative decisions and just plain rushing things ultimately led to the demise of the "SnyderVerse" and now, it looks like we're set for a full-blown reboot with James Gunn and Peter Safran's DC Universe regime set to begin.

Now, Shazam! star is weighing in on what caused the former "DC Extended Universe" to fail and according to him, it's the previous management's decision not to tap into a larger audience.

In a lengthy video he posted on Instagram highlighting the ongoing "DC drama", Levi explained why the SnyderVerse ultimately failed to hit the mark with fans and critics. Comparing it to the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actor said the following:

"And, up to this point, there have been quite a few films that may have made some people very happy, DC films that made some people very happy, but they're not tapping into the larger audience. You know, Marvel was very successful in doing that, bringing as many people to the table, as many people that can be satiated and brought joy and all that stuff."

Levi is among the actors rumored to be getting recast in the new DCU and while he's already expressed his confidence that he'll continue playing Shazam under Gunn and Safran's regime, things aren't looking great for him. I'd be sad to see him go and I'm definitely hoping he'll stick around.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit cinemas on March 17, 2023.
