Though it seems like these "upcoming releases" may include the highly-anticipated DC Extended Universe Wonder Woman sequel, Wonder Woman 1984, new reports suggest that COVID-19 won't be pushing back DC's follow-up to Shazam.

Though Shazam 2! was delayed once by the novel coronavirus outbreak, a new report by The Illuminerdi seems to suggest that the film will proceed with as planned. According to the news outlet, Warner Brother's plan for the Shazam sequel is to have production begin in Spring 2021.

Not only will this give Shazam 2 plenty of time to complete principal photography, it also gives the movie enough time to complete post-production and the addition of visual effects ahead of its release in November 2022.

This is good news for DC fans. Though there's a lot of uncertainty surrounding Warner Brother's incoming releases, this new report by Illuminerdi suggests that potential delays for this year won't really affect films set for 2022.

There's a been a lot of excitement over Shazam 2. The original movie did pretty well among fans and critics. The movie earned an excellent critic Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes with the critic consensus describing the movie as "an effortlessly entertaining blend of humor and heart," and a "superhero movie that never forgets the genre's real power: joyous wish fulfillment."

Crossing our fingers that the sequel achieves the same thing.
