Back in October, in an interview on Netflix Queue, it was confirmed that Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven) is set to officially begin filming Stranger Things Season 5 ‘next year’ after the actress went sentimental on the show’s upcoming finale. While there are no official announcements yet on Season 5 release date, it is expected to be out at earliest in 2024. In the meantime, show executive producer Shawn Levy hints at a very emotional finale season for Stranger Things as well as the official production start date.

Needless to say, Stranger Things Season 5 is not only going to be emotional for the fans, but also for the crew and cast members themselves. In a recent interview with Collider, Levy recalls the story the Duffer Brothers told on how their pitch for the finale season made the writers’ room full of teary-eyed crew members, emphasizing how much of an emotional rollercoaster ride the fifth season is going to be. Check out his full quote below:

“I know that [Duffer] Brothers already hinted at this publicly, but when we sat there and heard the two-hour-long pitch-out for the storyline of this final season, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the room by the time the brothers were done… so yeah, this last season will be both epic and very emotional. I think making it will be pretty damn emotional, too, since this show has changed the life of every one of us who have worked on it.”

Then, Levy continues on to say an encouraging update on Stranger Things Season 5, which likely confirms that we will be getting more teasers and content soon!

“Anyway, writing is going really well, and we can’t wait to head into production next year.”
