Shaun Of The Dead was one of the classic comedic takes on zombie films. During the height of the zombie craze, Last Night In Soho director Edgar Wright started filming a satirical take on the zombie storyline.

It has almost been 16 years since the release of Shaun Of The Dead, and fans of the movie have a lot of questions regarding a second installment of the film. Edgar Wright has opened up about the possibility of Shaun Of The Dead 2 happening, but it is not the best news for fans.

Is Shaun Of The Dead 2Cancelled Or In Production?

Edgar Wright has every right to say no to making Shaun Of The Dead 2. However, for whatever reason it is, fans still think he should think twice.

Regardless, he has gotten a lot of success even after the Shaun Of The Dead fever, with movies such as Hot Fuzz and The World's End. With a new film under his wing right now, titled Last Night In Soho starring Anya Taylor-Joy and Thomasin McKenzie, he opened up a bit of his Shaun Of The Dead 2.

In an interview with SFX Magazine, per The Hollywood Reporter, Wright revealed that he has no plan of revisiting the Shaun Of The Dead franchise. Basically, it means that Shaun Of The Dead 2 ain't happening.

Wright said:

"I haven't gone back to horror-comedy, because with Shaun Of The Dead I felt like I had said much of what I wanted to say with that movie. It's difficult to return to that, even as a producer. Sometimes I get sent films – people want to make the next Shaun and want me to come aboard as a producer. But I find it difficult to cover the same territory again."

One of the original cast that starred in Edgar Wright's Shaun Of The Dead, Simon Pegg, has been keeping himself busy lately. The comedian has since taken on several films, including his latest one, Staged and America: The Motion Picture, a Netflix original series.

Nick Frost has also been working very hard. The actor has taken on several voice acting projects in the past year, including Extinct, Scooby-Doo! The Sword And The Scoob, and Trollhunters: Rise Of The Titans.
