Shang-Chi Star Simu Liu Teases Possible Spider-Man Crossover with Tom Holland

There is little doubt that Simu Liu is destined for great things after the release of Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings. So what can we expect for his character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Liu has teased on a possible Shang-Chi and Spider-Man crossover with Tom Holland.

The release of Shang-Chi is only a week away and Liu has been busy promoting his upcoming MCU flick. Not surprisingly, Kim's Convenience star has a lot of awesome ideas for his character's future, one of which would involve a major crossover with Spider-Man.

Liu shared one of his ideas with Comicbook.com and he teases how Shang-Chi and Spider-Man had worked together in the comics.

"Well, there's this wonderful comic run where Shang-Chi teams up with Spider-Man and teaches him martial arts and Kung Fu and develops a style around him," Liu said. "And it's this really cool run. I think it's pretty cool."

Liu added that he is eager to collaborate with Holland, who he admits is someone he truly admires.

"I just think it'd be really incredible to work with, first of all, with an actor like Tom who's so incredibly talented in his own right. And also, I just want that for the culture. You know? I want to see the two of them fighting," he said.

The idea of Shang-Chi and Spider-Man might be a little too much considering they are both good guys. Nevertheless, we would love a crossover between the two characters and we're hoping that Marvel Studios agrees.

Liu will debut as the titular character in Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, which will premiere exclusively in theaters on September 3, 2021.
