We still know very little about Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and quite frankly, a lot of fans seem to be sleeping on the upcoming Marvel Studios flick, and understandably so. Most fans aren't exactly familiar with the character which will be portrayed by Simu Liu on the big screen and when you have films like Black Widow, Thor: Love and Thunder, and Spider-Man 3 on the horizon, the thought of seeing a newcomer to the MCU, especially someone who's basically a D-list character isn't exactly thrilling.

However, MCU fans need to be on the lookout for Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings as the film could set up the arrival of one of the X-Men's fiercest foes. The forthcoming MCU film will see the debut of the character named Fah Lo Suee/Zheng Bao Yu which will be played by Awkwafina. The character is Shang-Chi's half-sister and she could be bringing with her the Brood, a dangerous alien race that could put the world in peril.

In the comics, Zheng Bao Yu's father has long been experimenting on the Brood. With the help of the Celestial Order of the Hai-Dai, an order of ninjas loyal to her father, Yu sets up a lab in Chinatown to continue the experiment. She ultimately succeeds and would use the Brood to assassinate her enemies.

The Brood species have long been associated with the X-Men, serving as one of their toughest foes in the comics and with the Mutant franchise debuting in the MCU sometime in the future, it'll be safe to assume that they'll be taking on the Brood first before anyone else. This is all just speculation for now so of course, take everything with a grain of salt.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will be hitting cinemas in 2021.
