Sean Gunn recently weighed in on the comparisons between Marvel and DC as someone who is involved in both franchises.

For decades, fans have been comparing the two giant comic book brands in terms of the quality of their comics, film, and TV output. After all, they are the franchises that have been ruling the space.

While the "rivalry" between Marvel and DC is now more friendly, the conversations regarding their comparison are still ongoing among the fandom, especially as the latter is set to relaunch their cinematic universe.

In a recent interview, Gunn discussed the comparisons between Marvel and DC where he called "like trying to compare apples and oranges."

"I came into the whole process of working at Marvel once the machine was kind of already up and running smoothly and doing well. DC, I’ve done [The] Suicide Squad, but now they’re kind of overhauling it, and it’s new ever since my brother took over as head of the studio," he said.

"It’s sort of been a new process for them. So it would be, it’s really kind of true, like trying to compare apples and oranges."

Despite their massive differences, there are still similarities on their process, especially now that Sean's brother James Gunn has taken over the DC franchise.

The actor added, "Underneath it all, working with my brother is more similar than it is different to other things. So the fact that I was working with James in Marvel and James in DC makes it actually — there’s a lot more similarities in terms of process."

Gunn made some great points about the Marvel and DC comparisons since they are still different from one another, and it's not an easy compare them due to the differences on the state of their respective franchises.

However, the public will still continue to see them as rivals and it will ignite further once the DCU launches as fans would try to compare it to the MCU's accomplishments even if it's unnecessary.
