Guardians of the Galaxy actor Sean Gunn recently confirmed his casting as Maxwell Lord in the new DCU franchise.
It was reported a few months ago that he has been cast to play the villain in the DCU, which is currently being spearheaded by his brother James Gunn.
So far, it is unknown which project he will officially make his debut as Maxwell Lord. It is set to be his second role in the franchise since he is also voicing G.I. Robot and Weasel in Creature Commandos.

Sean Gunn Teases His Take on Maxwell Lord in the DCU
In an interview with Screen Rant, Gunn discussed his upcoming role as Maxwell Lord in the DCU and teased his take on the iconic villain.
While he didn't directly name the character, he hinted that his version of the character will be more "grounded" than the other iterations.
"The other one you mentioned — who I'm not sure I can still technically mention publicly, even though obviously the word is out — all I can say is that character is a little bit more grounded in being," Gunn said.
"A lot more grounded, obviously, as a human being. And so that's a character that I'll tackle in a more traditional way."
Gunn will be the second actor who is bringing Maxwell Lord to the big screen. Pedro Pascal previously portrayed him in Wonder Woman 1984.
It is interesting to see what the DCU version of the character will look like since he is usually a shrewd figure with a complicated personality that can be eccentric or larger-than-life at times.
Based on the actor's comments, it looks like the Maxwell Lord that we will meet soon won't be like the other versions that we saw before.
There are reports that the character will make his debut in James Gunn's Superman, which is currently filming, but it remains unconfirmed at the moment.
