Scarlett Johansson to Reunite With Chris Evans in First Post-Black Widow Project

Scarlett Johansson might not have any plans on working with Disney again but she's always ready to reunite with a Marvel co-star. It has been confirmed that Johansson will join Chris Evans in a new romantic action-adventure film for Apple and Skydance.

Deadline confirms that Johansson and Evans will lead in Ghosted, a high-profile project that will be directed by Rocketman director Dexter Fletcher. The script is being written by Deadpool scribes Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese. Wernick and Reese had pitched the idea to Skydance, who in turn tapped Apple with the film. Although details have not yet been revealed, the movie is being described as being similar to Romancing the Stone starring Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner.

For now, Johansson and Evans are still in advanced negotiations to appear in the new film. If a deal is made, this will be the 10th film that the two have worked in together.

Johansson and Evans first worked together in 2004's The Perfect Score and were later reunited in The Nanny Diaries. Since then, the two have appeared in seven Marvel Cinematic Universe movies including an uncredited cameo for both in the Captain Marvel mid-credits scene.

Johansson recently made headlines after she filed a lawsuit against Disney for breaching her contract. According to Johansson, the House of Mouse breached her contract by releasing Black Widow on Disney+ and preventing the movie from getting a full theatrical release. Disney has since filed a motion to move to arbitration.

Black Widow is still screening on Disney+.
