Only Murders in the Building S4 Doesn't Pick Up Where Sazz Was Left Off
Who would've known that when Sazz (played by Jane Lynch) came over to visit Charles (Steve Martin), she would end up dead?
As season 3 episode 10 titled Opening Night left fans on a cliffhanger, the season 4 premiere makes her death all the more mysterious to analyze.
From where the third season left, Sazz's body was still on the floor, freshly shot. However, season 4 doesn't even show where her body went, exactly, leading fans to question, where did it go?
Well, while the show has yet to answer this right off the bat, fans discovered interesting theories and clues as to where Sazz's body may have gone.
Keep the main clues in mind: Sazz was dressed up like Charles, she got shot in his kitchen, and the mysterious sender told Charles via text message: "Not your f***ing friend."
According to some fans (via Reddit), Sazz may have been thrown into the incinerator. As they observed, the power went out when the trio were recording their podcast, which "hadn't happened since they stopped running the old incinerator."
What supports this theory is that by the end of the episode, the dog managed to sniff something right in the old incinerator itself. Additionally, the trio found out that Sazz's metal joint replacements were hidden within the ashes.
But are these enough to conclude that she died? Other fans protested.
As another fan surmised, Sazz may have faked her own death, under the theory that "if someone could fake their own death for good reasons (say, to protect her friends), it's Sazz."
The theory stands on the possibility that the Bulgarian joint replacements may have merely been planted while Sazz escaped the crime scene before the killer could figure out she made it out alive.
