Fall 2021 was filled with different kinds of series, all varying in genre. For the ones interested in the sci-fi or mecha genre, chances are you've been watching Sakugan. For the unaware, Sakugan follows Memempu and Gagumber, a father and daughter duo. The story is set in a world where humanity lives underground, but large parts of it remain unexplored and unknown. Memempu and Gagumber work as Markers who explore these unknown areas and map them out. At the same time, the two of them set out on this journey so that Memempu can go to the mysterious place she keeps seeing in her dreams.
Sakugan is one of the less popular series for Fall 2021. The series earned a 6.59/10 on MyAnimeList, which isn't very high. However, people seem to have mixed feelings and reviews regarding the series. Some are fond of the show, while others found it quite "meh."

Sakugan Season 2 Plot
Sakugan is an adaptation of Sakugan Labyrinth Marker, a novel by Nekotaro Inui. The story won runner-up in the Science Fiction/Robot category of Project Anima, which was a collaboration between Bunka Housou, DeNA, and Sotsu. There is also a manga adaptation under Square Enix, written by Keisuke Sato.
Season 2 of Sakugan will most likely continue with Gagumber, Memempu, Zackletu, and Yuri going on their journey to locate the mysterious area that keeps showing up in Memempu's dreams. What kind of places will they see next? What new shenanigans will they get into? Is Memempu completely safe from the Shibito? The second season will have numerous questions left to answer.
Will There Be a Season 2 of Sakugan?
As of December 2021, there are no official announcements yet from Satelight, the animation studio behind the series. However, considering the last episode was titled "To Be Continued," we can only hope that there will be a second season of Sakugan.
