Ryan Reynolds penned a hilarious and heartfelt tribute to Chris Evans' surprise return as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine.
The MCU vet reprised his Fantastic Four role in the recent film to the delight of many fans who have been speculating whether he will make a cameo appearance as the other Marvel character that he played in the past.
However, Evans' screen time in Deadpool & Wolverine was short-lived as he met a gruesome death thanks to Cassandra Nova. Despite that, fans were happy to see him get his flame on one more time.
Ryan Reynolds Posts Tribute to Chris Evans Cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine
In his recent post on Instagram, Reynolds shared a celebration tribute to Chris Evans' return as Johnny Storm in Deadpool & Wolverine.
As the actor's followers know, he has been posting long tributes to the actors who made surprise appearances in the MCU film for the past few days.
In his caption, Reynolds thanked Evans for agreeing to reprise the role of Johnny Storm in the film and noted how this was our way of saying goodbye to the Fantastic Four character.
"Seeing Johnny Storm (if only for a short while) was like seeing someone you miss come back from the dead in a dream. Way too brief and too lovely to be real. Goodbyes are hard. It was hard saying goodbye to Chris Evans’ Johnny Storm. But at least we got to actually say it this time," he wrote.
Reynolds also made a hilarious reference to Johnny's gruesome death and blamed his "fat-ass mouth" for his demise (which is a huge layer of joke that only those who have seen the film would understand).
He added, "On the other hand, it wouldn’t have been necessary if he hadn’t run his fat-ass mouth around Cassandra. Or if she hadn’t zip-zapped his skin, leaving his organs to splash crudely onto the ground, while the soil greedily drank his blood. It was horrible."
While it remains to be seen whether Evans will follow Downey's footsteps when it comes to his potential MCU return as Steve Rogers, it is great to see him don the suit as Johnny Storm one last time and he had a memorable on-screen presence that makes his comeback worthy enough for fans.
Deadpool & Wolverine is showing in theaters everywhere.
