Russo Brothers Working on Big-Budget Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans Spy Thriller

Marvel directors Joe and Anthony Russo might be taking a break from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after helming the hectic back-to-back production of Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, but that doesn't mean that the filmmakers are taking a step back from new projects.

The Russo Brothers are working on a new project for Netflix, and it looks like the movie is going to allow the directors to reunite with Captain America: Civil War star Chris Evans.

According to a report by Deadline, the Russos are working on a brand new Netflix movie called The Gray Man. One of the biggest budget films that Netflix plans to develop, the spy thriller stars Blade Runner 2022 star Ryan Reynolds and Chris Evans.

The movie follows the story of Court Gentry, a freelance assassin and former operative of the CIA. Gentry must find a way to escape from the hands of Lloyd Hansen, one of his former cohorts at the CIA.

The Grey Man has been described as an "action thriller that centers on a deadly duel between killers as Gentry (Gosling) is hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Evans), a former cohort of Gentry's at the CIA."

Marvel movie writers Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus helped polish the film's script initially written by director Joe Russo.

Netflix has given the film a budget over$200 million. That's the most that the company has ever given a movie project. The streamer must have a lot of faith in The Gray Man, because the film is being built up as an action movie franchise where Gosling will continue with multiple projects.

Netflix has yet to announce a release date for the film but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
