Robert Downey Jr. Also Wants To See Iron Heart Take His Place In The MCU

Now that Avengers: Endgame has sacrificed the life of Tony Stark, it looks like Robert Downey Jr. wants to see Riri Williams take Iron Man's place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Sure, the second entry in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie might have set up the possibility of Morgan Stark becoming her father's successor in the Marvel film franchise, but it seems like Iron Man himself still wants to see Iron Heart make her way into the MCU.

Eve Wing, the comic book writer who has been recently writing about Iron Heart in Marvel comics, just recently met and introduced the actor during the Renaissance gala at the Gene Siskel Film Center to honor Jon Favreau. Taking to Twitter, Wing revealed that during the event, Downey "said publicly in a room full of people that #Ironheart should be in the MCU."

Fans were eager to agree, saying that they just can't wait to see the heroine make her way into the franchise.

For those who aren't familiar with the character, Iron Heart/ Riri Williams is a 15-year-old engineering student who attends the Massachusetts Institute of Technology on a scholarship. There, she designs a suit of armor much like the Iron Man armor using a material that she stole from the campus. Riri eventually becomes the new Iron Man.

Right now, we're not quite sure whether or not Marvel might really introduce Riri into the franchise, but it looks like it isn't just the fans who want to see the character come to life on the big screen.

Avengers: Endgame is in its final weeks in cinemas.
