There is little doubt that Rick and Morty are worried about how long they will need to wait for the next season. After all, the animated series is quite notorious when it comes to making people wait for new content. However, Adult Swim has shared some good news at Adult Swim Festival. The Rick and Morty Season 6 release date is finally set for next year!
Anyone who has been following Rick and Morty for some time now would be well aware of how the animated series tends to get delayed. Production on the fourth season took a long time and there were even concerns that the show will not return on Adult Swim. Luckily, the cast and crew have improved on a lot since then and now we can expect to see Rick and Morty Season 6 a lot sooner.
The network has teased during the Adult Swim festival this weekend that Rick and Morty Season 6 is on track and will premiere by 2022. Although the exact release date was not announced just yet, there are speculations that the next season will air sometime in summer next year.
For now, we don't have any teaser footage for Rick and Morty Season 6. However, fans got an awesome treat during the Adult Swim Festival. In addition to the Rick and Morty watch party, the event premiered the special episode Samurai and Shogun Part 2. You can check it out below.
The fifth season of Rick and Morty concluded in September with the episode Rickmurai Jack, which was an obvious nod to Cartoon Network's classic Samurai Jack. The finale concluded with (ex) President Morty stepping into a new dimension, teasing new adventures in the future.
Rick and Morty Season 6 has not yet been given an official release date but is expected to air on Adult Swim in 2022. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
