Subaru Natsuki is just a typical guy running down the nearest convenience store for a quick grab of supplies when he magically gets transported to a place far from the modern Japan he lives in. He arrived in a place, still confused and perplexed, where humans and demi-humans live together.
A group of thugs attacked him and Satella, a passerby looking for her stolen insignia, helps him. In turn, Subaru helped Satella look for the missing insignia. They ended up in a looted shop where the insignia could be traded for money but they found their deaths instead. When he woke up, he lives the same day all over again.
