No, it's not some kind of déjà vu, Re: Zero's Subaru is actually reliving the day he arrived in the world he got magically transported to. Subaru was just a regular guy stopping by at the local convenience store for some supplies. On his way home, he got transported somewhere else, somewhere far from Japan that he knows of.
Subaru Natsuki got all confused and dazed as to what in the world just happened when a group of thugs attacked him. Outnumbered in a world where demi-humans and humans both live, he was lucky to be saved by a passerby, Satella, who was just looking for her stolen insignia. To show his thanks to Satella, Subaru offered to look with her.
They arrived at a local loot store where the insignia could've possibly been traded for money. While in the store, they found something else – their death. And Subaru wakes up to the same event again, he ends up in the same spot where he got transported to, attacked by the same group of thugs, met the same passerby, and die the same day all over again.

Re:Zero's official Twitter page released various character stills found in Episode 47 and the series is building up to the final confrontation about to happen in the last few episodes between Subaru and Roswaal. Basing on the images alone, the episode will be quite rough on Subaru and how he will finally be confronting Roswaal face to face in a few episodes would surely be exciting.
